The Sweetums Story:
Many years ago, two
little girls met each other in Sunday school and forged a
friendship. After going to separate elementary schools,
they finally could see each other more often in junior high
school. High school brought them even closer, some would
even say they were joined at the hip. College sent them in
different directions, but they made a deal to talk on a
weekly basis. After college, still best of friends, they
never managed to live near each other. Throughout their
friendship they shared many things including the love of
baking. After over 40 years of being apart, they finally
live near each other again, and now bake together. The
Original Cake in a Jar is a labor of love and product of
their life long friendship.
We use gingham as
our trademark, which appears on our business cards, printed
materials, jar labels and some ribbon on the jars.

Sweetums’ Cake in
a Jar
Sweetums’
Original Cake in a Jar, made by Sweetums Eats &
Treats in Pinebluff, is a handy thing to have on
hand for unexpected company or to send to loved
ones. The cakes are baked in a mason jar and vacuum
packed. Sweetums says the cakes have a shelf life of
up to a year, or if opened will stay fresh for two
weeks refrigerated, and they easily slide out of the
jar. Flavors include butter macadamia, German
chocolate, orange cranberry, banana nut, white chip
pumpkin walnut and holiday spice, along with a new
cake made from wine. Prices are $6 a jar, plus
shipping. Sweetums also sells fruit spreads,
including blueberry, peach and strawberry flavors
and plans to offer wine jelly. |
